I am Amy Hillier, a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I offer a confidential and supportive space for private counselling where you can talk openly about whatever is bringing you to therapy. My main approach is Gestalt therapy, and I may also draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques where they could be helpful. We can take things at your pace and work together to understand what you're experiencing and what you would like support with.
My primary approach is Gestalt therapy, which focuses on understanding how your thoughts, feelings, and experiences influence you in the present. Additionally, I may incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) when it proves beneficial. Instead of applying the same method to everyone, I tailor our private counselling sessions to meet your specific needs.
People seek private counselling for many different reasons. I can support you with a range of difficulties and experiences using Gestalt therapy alongside elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) where appropriate. You might be looking for support with:
- Anxiety and low mood
- Stress and feeling overwhelmed
- Trauma and difficult experiences from the past
- Anger and difficult emotions
- Addiction and addictive behaviours
- Relationship and family difficulties
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Life changes or feeling stuck
I work with adults and young people aged 11 and above, offering private counselling tailored to their individual needs. Everyone comes to counselling for various reasons, so our sessions will be shaped around what you need rather than following a set formula. My primary approach is Gestalt therapy, with elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) incorporated where they may be helpful.
Face to face private counselling sessions take place in my dedicated counselling room in Basingstoke. The room is separate from the main house and provides a quiet, comfortable and confidential space where you can talk openly. My work is primarily informed by Gestalt Therapy with elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) incorporated where they may be helpful.
If you're considering counselling and would like to find out more, please feel free to get in touch. We can talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you're looking for and whether working together feels right for you. There's no pressure to have everything figured out before making contact.
